When Prince Harry arranged a weekend of activities off the coast for his brother's stag do earlier this year, he was only following an increasing holiday trend: the extreme sports bachelor party.
Many travel agencies and hen and stag do organisers are offering an alternative to the typical booze and strippers night that characterises this type of event. Here is a selection of extreme sports activities and the people who offer them in the UK and abroad:
Off road dirt buggy racing
If you want to get dirty - and I don't mean it in a figurative way - while driving a four wheel motor machine in one of the top off road buggy tracks throughout the UK, Adventure Connections may be the answer.
The company offers on arrival equipment for all drivers and a full and thorough safety briefing. You will be instructed on how the grass karts work and how to stop them. Clear instructions for the rules of the dirt track and what the different coloured flags signify.
They warn that driving these four wheeled mud covered machines around the tracks is not as easy as it looks. However, loads of fun and adrenaline rushes are guaranteed.
Prices go from £170 per person for minimum groups of ten for a 2 nights accommodation.
Your bachelor days are gone (with the wind)
Practising kite sports in Cornwall may be a refreshing way to have fun with your mates before the big day. With different locations within no more than 35 minutes drive from its base at Perranporth, Mobius offers whichever wind sports are possible on the day, such as power kiting, kite buggying or landboarding.
In addition to the many spots available for the events, the organisers' kite school has been approved by the British Kite Surfing Association.
They can cater for any size group, but the minimum requirement is six people. A full package for under 10 people goes at a standard rate of £85 per person.
Surfing in the sun
Spanish agency DeDespedida arranges stag and hen parties around surfing as one of its many activities offered in the Canary Islands.
The islands count with world class beaches for practising surfing, but their diversity also means that there are waves for all levels of epxerience.
This agency offers a pack of around £320 that includes accommodation, flights from mainland Spain and intensive lessons on surfing, bodyboard or windsurfing by experienced monitors.
