Given that many families have never considered renting a villa, those that do find so many benefits that they are often hooked for life. Especially for these people, I decided to provide a brief introduction to a few of the very best villas that I have visited. 

Switzerland - Chalet Fulsyl - Evolene

Those looking for an idyllic ski lodge that appears to have been extracted directly from a postcard would be wise to consider Chalet Fulsyl as a front runner. This is quite simply the ideal place to cosy up and keep warm among the stunning Swiss Alps, with traditional local décor and a roaring open fireplace adding further charm to what is already on a whole new level of charm and elegance. All three of the bedrooms, the spacious living room and even the kitchen boast stunning views of the mountains and valleys outside.

Housing up to six, this villa is the ideal base for a snowy adventure or ski trip for both groups and families alike. Those not interested in such strenuous activities are of course equally well catered for, with all mod cons imaginable and satellite TV for those who prefer their pursuits of pleasure confined to the indoors.

Portugal Torres Do Colegio - Algarve

A true Mecca for those wondering what it must be like to live like a movie star among the most beautiful backdrop the Algarve has to offer, Torres Do Colegio is essentially more of a full-blown mansion than it is a villa. With overall architecture and design resembling a stunning English style country house, all occupants are guaranteed to be left speechless by the immaculate and truly unique interior. Furthermore, just to add an additional touch of exclusivity and luxury, maintenance staff including two nannies and full time chef are always on hand in their own wing of this epic property.

Guests are waited on hand and foot from the very moment of arrival, whether in bed, lounging in the living areas or soaking up the sun by the gated swimming pool and tennis courts. There really is everything anyone could possibly wish for on an ideal villa break, including a resident cat just to tie the whole experience together.
